【摘要】:Thecompatibilityofoilscanbeimportantforusersofoil-lubricatedequipment.Itiswellknownthatthemixingoftwooilscanproduceasubstancemarkedlyinferiortoeitherofitsconstituentmaterials.Oneormoreofthefollowingcanoccur:5.1.1Amixtureofincompatibleoilsmostoftenformsaprecipitate.5.1.2Theprecipitatewillformunwanteddepositsinthelubricationsystem,plugfiltersandoilpassageways.5.1.3Sucheventscanleadtocatastrophicequipmentfailures.Becauseofsuchoccurrences,lubricantsuppliersrecommendevaluatingcompatibilityoflubricatingoilofdifferentformulationsandsourcespriortomixing.Equipmentusersmostoftendonothavetheresourcestoevaluateoilcompatibilityandmustrelyontheirsuppliers.Mixingofoilsisahighlyimprudentpracticewithoutfirstdeterminingthecompatibility.Althoughnewturbineoilsmaybecompatible,in-serviceoilofthesametypemaybedegradedorcontaminatedtosuchanextentthatthenewoiladdedmaynotbecompatiblewiththesystemoil.In-serviceoilcompatibilitywithnewoiladditionsshouldbeevaluatedonacasebycasebasis.Theoxidationresistanceofdifferentoilsofthesametypecanvarywidely,andcompatibilitydoesnotimplyequivalentperformance.1.1ThispracticecoversthecompatibilityofmixturesofturbinelubricatingoilsofthesameISOVGgradeandtypeasdefinedbySpecificationD4304.TheTier1methodcomparesthevisualappearancesofspecificmixtureswiththoseoftheneatoilsafterstorageatspecifiedconditions.1.2Ifthecurrentin-serviceoiliscausingproblemsorifcircumstancesindicatetheneedforadditionaltesting,aTier2methodcomparesselectedperformancepropertiesofthemixtureanditsconstituentoils.1.3TheTier1andTier2methodscanbeusedtoevaluatenew(unused)lubricantcompatibilityortheeffectsofaddingnew(unused)lubricanttoin-servicelubricantinthesystem.1.4Thismethoddoesnotevaluatethewearpreventioncharacteristics,loadcarryingcapacity,orthemechanicalshearstabilityoflubricantsmixtureswhileinservice.Ifanti-wear(AW),extremepressure(EP),orshearstabilityaretobeevaluated,furthertestingoftheseparametersmayberequired.1.4.1Tier1Mixturesofthetwoconstituentoilstobeevaluatedarepreparedatspecifiedproportions,storedinanovenat65176;Cfor168h,andthenevaluatedforchangesinphysicalappearance.1.4.2Tier1-Mixturesofthetwoconstituentoilstobeevaluatedarepreparedatspecifiedproportions,storedinanovenat65176;Cfor168h,andthenevaluatedforchangesphysicalappearanceandparametersdetailedin7.3.1.5Mixturesofthetwoconstituentoilsareevaluatedinaprimarytestingprotocolusingthefollowingstandards:1.5.1Forcompatiblemixtures,asupplemental(nonmandatory)testingschemeissuggestedwhencircumstancesindicatetheneedforadditionaltestingthebeyondTier2primaryrecommendedtests.Note0Theoxidationstabilitytestmethodshouldbeselectedbasedontheproducttypeandinagreementwiththelubricantsupplier(seeforoptions).Unlikeothertestsdescribedinthispractice,theimpactonoxidationstabilitymaynotbeeasilyinterpretedwithapass/failrating.Theuserisencouragedtocontactthelubricantsupplierforassistanceintheevaluationofthedata.1.6Sequentialorconcurrenttestingiscontinueduntilthetestrequestororuserissatisfiedthattheintentofthispracticehasbeenmet.IfanymixturefailstheTier1visualappearancemethodoranyoftheTier2primarytests,whenrequested,theoilsareincompatible.IfallmixturespasstheTier1orTier2tests,theoilsareconsideredcompatiblebythosemethods.......
